Cape Town is fast becoming one of the latest and hottest destinations for weddings, elopements and honeymoons.
We have identified this trajectory and have crafted this opportunity to enable you to become a pioneer and industry leading photographer in this region.
For this retreat, there will be 7 meticulously crafted styled shoots, designed to attract your dream international clients. The 7 shoots encapsulate the current and future wedding market trends and will consist of intimate elopement photoshoots, engagement photoshoots, and a boutique destination wedding shoot at one of South Africa's most luxurious wedding venues in the Cape Vineyards.
I have the privilege of traveling to South Africa for weddings and elopements yearly, and there has been no greater joy than mixing business with pleasure! If this is your goal too, then let's do this thing !

This is the perfect opportunity to come and relax after a busy 4 day retreat filled with fun activities, shooting and traveling! Enjoy 3 course meals, relaxing by the pool and daily safaris to end off the perfect trip! (You can even take this time to edit some photos ;) ) (Please make sure to book your return flight as late as possible on the 8th of March as the safari lodge is not close to the airport)

This beautiful beach cottage is situated right on the shore in Kommetjie. The area is close to restaurants and nearby famous sites like the Kristenbosch National Gardens, Cape Point, Boulders Penguin Beach, Chapman's Peak drive and so much more! It's only 40minutes from the Airport and 30Minutes from Cape Town City. The beach cottage has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and sleeps 10 guests.

Hi, I'm Aneleh (tough name, I know... Its Helena backwards ;) ) I'm SO excited you're here! I'm a lawyer and part-time photographer in South Africa, and one of Heidi's close friends! We cannot wait to host this amazing retreat for you guys in Cape Town, South Africa! We're working with some of SA's TOP wedding vendors to bring this vision to life! Come and experience the beauty that South Africa has to offer and build your portfolios to attract real clients!
Hi, I'm Heidi! Owner of Heidi Straus Photography and currently living in Minnesota, USA where I spend 8 months out of the year. During the US Winters I travel back to my hometown in South Africa to capture weddings, elopements and host these amazing retreats for awesome people like YOU!

Cape Town International airport is the closest airport and this is where attendees will be picked up from.
Yes! You are more than welcome to bring a friend/spouse/mom whoever!
You will both receive $300 off when booking with a friend. you will share a bed with this person and they will be part of all the activities, meals and shoots.
Yes, there is wifi at the beach cottage.
Make sure to bring a wall adaptor for you chargers, hair tools, cameras etc! South Africa uses type C, D and M (Mainly M type). Aneleh and I will bring extra adapters as well!

We're very selective when it comes to choosing models. Every effort is made to prioritize diversity with the model selection and making sure they have experience in front of the camera.
Yes, Cape Town is perfectly safe. We will always be traveling together as a group. Aneleh and I will be picking everyone up from the airport. So no need to worry about any dodgy business :)
We will mostly be dining out at amazing restaurants in Cape Town, the rest of the time, Aneleh and I will be providing meals.
