About Heidi

Your South Africa Safari Elopement Photographer and Planner

I was born and raised in South Africa and lived there for the first 22 years of my life. Although I now live in the United States with my husband and our two children, South Africa is still home and it is where I return each year to photograph weddings, visit family, and spend as much time in the bush as possible.

I help international couples plan and photograph private safari elopements throughout South Africa. For many of my couples, it is their first time visiting the country and their first safari, so they need more than someone who can simply take beautiful photographs.

They need help choosing the right reserve and lodge, understanding the travel logistics, arranging transfers, coordinating vendors, building a relaxed timeline, and knowing what to expect once they arrive.

That is where I come in.

My goal is to make the experience feel exciting rather than overwhelming. I bring the major pieces together so you can arrive, settle into safari life, and focus on the two of you.

South Africa Is More Than a Destination to Me

I did not discover South Africa through a travel brochure or begin offering safari weddings because they became popular online. I grew up there.

I understand the pace of the country, the people, the landscapes, and the realities of traveling between international airports, regional airports, lodges, and private reserves. I have stayed at safari lodges, worked alongside guides and local vendors, photographed couples in wildlife environments, and learned how much the right lodge can shape the entire experience.

I also understand what it feels like to plan from the United States. Because I now live here, I can help bridge the gap between what international couples expect and how things actually work in South Africa.

That combination matters when your wedding includes more than a venue and a photographer. Safari elopements involve lodge availability, game-drive schedules, transfers, wildlife safety, ceremony locations, hair and makeup, flowers, meals, weather, and the natural rhythm of the reserve.

My job is to help all of those pieces work together while still leaving room for the moments nobody can plan- like giraffes wandering through your portraits or an elephant arriving beside your suite.
